Tides of change Verlynn and Candice

Customized Employment was so excited to have the chance to attend this year’s Inclusion BC conference. We were even more excited to hear that a lot of the workshops were employment oriented.

The 3 days were jam packed with loads of helpful information. We learned new approaches to the work that we do and made a lot of connections with other associations. It was inspiring to hear from people who have already gained meaningful employment. It was just as inspiring to see other people interested in working.

The biggest gift of all was the chance to sit and talk with Denise Bissonnette, our Job Development hero! The amount of knowledge she was able to share with us was invaluable. We were given new lens to see the world and cannot wait to apply those new skills here at Semi.

To be surrounded by people who share the same value’s and strives for the same inclusive workplaces was an experience that cannot be put into words. We are honoured to be a part of any movement that encourages an inclusive workplace and an inclusive community but most of all an inclusive world.
