As I sit to write this note for the January newsletter, I do so with a bundle of enthusiasm as we head into 2015. While I must admit the Christmas and Holiday time period is my favorite of the year, it is for our family a time where we all celebrate our good fortune and give thanks for all the success we may enjoy. We gather as a larger family to enjoy the company and love that we share for each other as well as that for our friends and new acquaintances. Sure we exchange gifts. However it is not about “What did you get?” It is more that we are together enjoying each other’s company and sharing time for other.
Before we will know it, spring will be upon us and we have a very busy first quarter ahead of us as Board Members. Fresh in the Board Members’ minds is the amount of work ahead of us as we anticipate the breaking ground for the much spoken about Apartment Complex. Other major events are the donor’s dinner, Taste of BC and new to us will be joining the Fusion Festival. The dedication of the Board Members is certainly a motivating factor to others and myself. The Board is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about ensuring that the very best guidance and advice are being supplied to our senior leadership team as well as all of our associates have taken on. We are very appreciative of their dedication to the Society as well as the wonderful people that are supported through our many programs that are offered.
This will be a busy and exciting first quarter as we move forward into 2015. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you and your families a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
As always thank you all so much for your continuing support,
Rich Gorman, Chairperson, Board of Directors
