This is a tough one I feel since being in a support/resource role I don’t always experience/hear about the direct support and services that are going on.
One story I was involved with, and through hearing the information from staff and with Lise Boughen, had to do with some of our group home closures. As tough a situation as it was for us…change and cut backs…it was very heartening to hear the care and support that staff were doing for the people we support. And then to hear about how wonderful life has been from the changes for the people we support in their new living situations.
I was proud to be part of that transition and know that we as SHS took great care and effort to ensure that everyone (staff and residents) had everything they needed to move forward.
