Susie Zhang is my volunteer. Susie was born and raised in Chile to Chinese parents, and moved to Canada in 2011. She graduated from Southridge School, where she found out about Semiahmoo House Society. She is currently a fourth-year undergrad at UBC, majoring in Nutritional Science. She plans on moving on to Nursing.
Susie has been with me since 2013, visiting and spending time with me for about three hours every two weeks or so. She’s very friendly and easygoing, and is always smiling and happy to see me, and interested in where I’m at and what’s going on in my life. She has helped me build up my computer skills, and this year we planted a flower and vegetable garden. She has helped me, my nephews, and others at the house decorate our Christmas tree. Sometimes we go out for coffee, or we meet at a restaurant and spend time together, or we bake together, or sometimes we just watch a movie at home. We have a lot of fun together, and I always look forward to seeing her.
