The Centre for Compassionate Learning (CCL) is dedicated to spreading the word of inclusion and human rights through facilitated workshops and training sessions. Doug Tennant is the Executive Director of Semiahmoo House Society and Peninsula Estates Housing Society. He recently completed his Master of Education with a focus on creativity and innovation in the arts. He is a strong believer that creativity develops spaces where people of different abilities can thrive together. He has been actively involved in the Community Living movement for the past 22 years as a parent, a worker, and a volunteer, and has served as member and chair of the Boards of Semiahmoo House Foundation, Semiahmoo House Society, and Peninsula Estates Housing Society. He is currently the Vice President of the BC CEO Network Board and a Director of the Surrey Board of Trade.

He has expertise in Social Media, Restorative Justice, Education, and Inclusion, and has presented on these topics at annual conferences for a variety of provincial and national organizations including Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS), Inclusion BC, and the Community Social Services Employers’ Association of BC (CSSEA). He is a certified Mandt Trainer and is currently completing his Person Centred Thinking Training Certification.
