Looking for something fun, exciting and different to try during your breaks from school? Want to get out in the community and explore the entire lower mainland? These camps may be for you! Registration is for an entire one-week camp at a time. You may register for more than one week of camp.

Rec and Leisure operates on a semester system, meaning we follow the public school semesters. At selected times of the year, day camps are offered for a week at a time from 9:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays). Costs include staffing, transportation and admission. Families send a lunch, plenty of water, hat and sunscreen. Throughout the year during the public school breaks there are weeks were we may offer camps such as the following:

Winter Daze
December
Brrr…its chilly out! But that’s okay, because you will have so much fun on your winter break this year you won’t even notice the cold! Awesome past activities have included snow-tubing at Cypress Mountain, Charlie’s Chocolate Factory, swimming, and laser tag!

Spring Daze
March
Similar to the Winter Daze camp in structure and routine, this camp is designed for youth to explore their community with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities such as Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre, Science World, local parks and fish hatcheries as well as swimming and bowling. This program emphasizes the development of social skills through activities and discussions. Youth are guaranteed to forget all about how much they’re missing school this week!

Summer Daze
July and August
What better way to spend your summer than with us in our Summer Daze camps! Have weeks long fun-filled, engaging, and educational activities such as swimming and BBQs at Cultus Lake, mini-golf, Splash Down Park waterslides, exploration hikes at Lynn Canyon, seeing the marine life at the Vancouver Aquarium and more!

Adapted Camps
July and August
Try out these awesome adapted camps! We offer several popular camps that are focused on a more specific topic. Camps we have offered in the past are: Musical Theatre camp, Rec Rockers band camp, Sports Stars fitness camp, Life Skills Camp, and Local Leisure Daze transit camp! Dance, Sing, Act, play baseball and try yoga, bus to Crescent Beach and Skytrain downtown! These are just some of the cool things we do in these adapted camps.

The ratio for all School Break Camps is 3:1 and for all Adapted Camps it’s 5:1.

This ratio is strictly enforced. We do not offer one-to-one support. However, families have the option of sending their own personal support worker. Prior to camp, this person must submit a current Criminal Records Check, be over the age of 16, be experienced at providing one to one support to individuals with developmental disabilities as well as meet with the Rec and Leisure Program Manager and staff.
