The professional support team at UNITI are all trained in the Person-Centred Practices philosophy. This approach, also known as person-centred thinking, is about tailoring support to the individual. It fosters happiness, health, and safety through unique, personalized strategies for each person living in their home. In this model, the team and the person supported work together to identify what is important to and for the person. ‘Important to’ focuses on what brings the person joy, purpose, and comfort. ‘Important for’ centers on what maintains the person’s emotional and physical well-being.
