The Semiahmoo Foundation, located in Surrey/White Rock, exists to fund, support and enhance the programs and services delivered by the Semiahmoo House Society.

Jillian Glennie

Associate Director of Development

Jillian began her career with Semiahmoo House Society in 2011 and has held roles in community services for over 15 years. As a highly engaged employee, her work has helped shift the disability movement forward and highlighted to the wider community that all people are capable of being leaders.

Some of the projects that Jillian has been involved with include supporting people to work on accessible legislation; bringing accessible beach wheelchairs to White Rock beach; supporting SAS candidate meetings; as well as the Equally Empowered program where SAS members present to students from kindergarten to university.

In 2019, Jillian became UNITI’s Community Development Advisor and in 2020, Jillian moved to the position of Associate Director of Development for The Semiahmoo Foundation. As a local resident and UNITI representative, Jillian is passionate about fostering relationships and supporting a thriving community.

Elizabeth Tichelman

Development and Project Coordinator

Elizabeth is a graduate from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Gender, Race and Social Justice. While studying at university, Elizabeth worked directly with people UNITI supports as a member of the Community Services team. She has been with UNITI for almost five years and is excited about the move into her role with The Semiahmoo Foundation.

Elizabeth is extremely passionate about her work and the organization. In her current role, Elizabeth works to ensure UNITI is achieving their Ends Policies through internet and print media, project tracking, fundraising, and community development.

Lauren Fisher

Development and Web Coordinator

Lauren (they/them) joined UNITI in 2021 after seeing the job posting on our Instagram!  Their values and interests in community engagement, communications and health and well-being align with the UNITI Ends.  AT UNITI, they promote community awareness about the diverse-ability movement through social media, marketing and community development.

Lauren has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Anthropology from the University of British Columbia.  Their Honours thesis considered the social implications of medical research with marginalized communities.  Previously, Lauren has worked in Communications and Administration settings in the healthcare and museum industries.  In their spare time, Lauren regularly volunteers in their community.
